...Sleepy Grass Campground, that is.

I honestly don't know how I find these camping gems, but Sleepy Grass, located just a few miles from Cloudcroft, New Mexico, is hands down, the quietest developed Forest Service campground I have ever been in. I was surrounded by Aspens, Firs, Pines, and a lovely meadow. It was so nice, I added an extra night and could have stayed many more.

Each dawn and dusk, a herd of deer would come strolling through, and many of the younger ones would play what appeared to be a game of tag. So cute!
| Tag, you're it!! |
I ventured into the "village" of Cloudcroft and it is tiny, but cute -- very western in nature, with lots of good options for dining and shopping for souvenirs.
So, if you're ever in the area and are looking for a great place to camp, I highly recommend site 14 in Sleepy Grass campground.
