Remembering Fran Crippen

Two years ago today, the swimming community and the world lost an amazing young athlete, Fran Crippen. His untimely death during an open water swim competition stunned me. How could something like this happen in our sport? Although he is gone, his legacy continues. Because of Fran, steps are being taken to ensure that this never happens again.
My heart goes out to his family on this day.
