OMG!! Run for your lives!! Godzilla is on the loose above Los Angeles.
LOL!! Not sure why the UCLA astronomy department chose Valentine's Day in 2001 to post this prank image, but it did make me laugh out loud when I first saw it. For those of you who don't already know, Mt. Wilson is one of the peaks above Los Angeles that hosts astronomy towers and an array of TV, cell phone, and other communications towers that serve a large chunk of southern California. Not far from Mt. Wilson is Camp Hi Hill, where I spent a week in 6th grade. Here's another more recent winter image of Mt. Wilson that I particularly love to look at.
